Battlestations Community Update - 12/11/08

Sorry for the extended hiatus, but I was under the impression this site was dead...fortunately Mandarax told me otherwise in a post on the official Eidos boards.

Anyway, the Community Manager - callsign mycoldman, also known as Mike - has given us some additional info on Battlestations Pacific. It's somewhat out of date now, and I apologize again. Click read more for the whole scoop.
Pacific Previews

Damn straight! More Pacific info headed your way.

Keir from the official forums has pointed out the BSP previews on both Eurogamer and Gamespot. They've expanded a little more on the whole concept of island capture and seaplanes (yes, there WILL be seaplanes, but as it seems, boathouse-launched ones).

More info below.
Gamespot Interview

There's a little more info available now from a Gamespot interview with marketing manager David Bamberger and lead designer Botond Szalacsi. Going past that which we already know - like the Pearl-Midway Japanese campaign, and the Midway-Okinawa American campaign, we've confirmed the appearance of several new units. More data below!

Release dates for BSP range from late December to early March, next year.

First Battlestations Pacific Trailer Release

The first Battlestations Pacific trailer is to be released TODAY. This data is from Keir himself, and so we can expect to see it on sometime soon.

The trailer is now fully operational at Battlestations.Net.

By the way, if you're looking for all the old news articles, I just archived them.

Battlestations Midway IRC

The Battlestations Midway Community IRC is now online! You can find it at

irc.abxy.org/#bsmcommunity

If you have mIRC or whatnot, you can use that...or you can use Mibbit, which is a website similar to Meebo for IRC. Click "Read More" to figure out how to connect to the IRC channel.

I've also been looking for the IRC widget in particular, but no luck getting HTML to work with PHPNuke. I don't know why, but I'll bring it up with Nemesis regardless.
BSMC is Back Online!

Yahoo! We're back online!

The full story WAS on YouTube, but I'll put it up here anyway. Basically, the site went down a while back and it asked me to contact support. I did. Next thing I know, they suspend Nemesis' account for a "CPU TOS violation" (ending with a sardonic and grammatically incorrect "THank you" [sic]).

Anyway, Nemesis has cleared the site up, if temporarily. Hopefully we won't have to resort to the backup board, but it IS there in the event we have further problems. I'm also looking into getting an IRC channel for us, so I'll keep you guys posted.

Welcome back to the Battlestations Midway Community!
Battlestations Midway Soundtrack Available

Yes, head on over to the Downloads section now and download the BSM Soundtrack. A few of the songs I don't even know, but Nemesis managed to rip them somehow...anyway, it's now up for download, so go check it out!

I'd also like to remind everyone that the BSM Tournament is still open until we have an 8th team!!

New BSP Features

Seems we have more data from an interview from Computer and Video Games. More Battlestations Pacific data has been revealed, so read more to skip the filler and go straight to the features!
